Trentham Football & Netball Club

The Trentham Saints Football & Netball Club is based at the Trentham Sports Ground.

News - Feb. 2011

Trentham District Football/Netball Club had a good attendance at their annual general meeting  and have formed a strong and progressive committee with the main focus on providing a supportive family based club. Our main focus is to provide our local youth the opportunity to continue to play sport in our community. 2011 is going to provide a greater opportunity with the introduction of Under 13's Netball and an Under 15's Football team. We play in the Maryborough Castlemaine League and the Trentham Sportsground is our home base where we play every fortnight. There are six grades of Netball. U13's, U15's U17's C Grade, B Grade and A Grade. TDF/NC are thrilled that Mia Kelly is continuing on as our U15's coach. Taking on a coaching role whilst studying at the latter end of high school is an amazing commitment for Mia to take on.  We require coaches for all other grades of netball and would be pleased to hear from anyone interested in any coaching roll to call club President Troy Adams on 0425389315. We would also like to invite any new players along to training. Everyone most welcome. Trentham football will field 4 teams beginning with U15's, U17's, Reserves and seniors. Dale Cowell has been appointed as our senior coach. Dale brings some fresh new ideas and family values to the club. Owen Sundblom has taken on the roll of U17's coach and Barry Maher has taken on the U15's. Both Owen and Barry have a great knowledge of the game and all players will be given an equal opportunity. We encourage anyone who would like to play to contact Owen on 0427241419 or Barry on 54241594. We are getting great numbers to training, training Tues and Thur evening from 6pm. Trentham DF/NC invite any new members , volunteers and Sponsors to come along or call for more infomation.

Trentham Cricket Club - 2011

Jenna Bruton batting during Junior Country Week against Gisborne Green at Daylesford.

Trentham cricket got off to a good start this year with the seniors having a good win againt Hepburn. The game could have gone either way but Trentham's batsmen hung on to get their runs in a thrilling finish. Trentham had five representatives in under 15,s Junior Country Week. They played in a combined team with Daylesford, Smythsdale and Lismore under the banner of Central Highlands Development Squad and finished seventh. Trentham's Jenna Bruton was the only female competing at Junior Country Week. Well done Jenna. Trentham seniors have three players representing the club in Bendigo County week and we hope they do well. Trentham u14's will begin the year with their first game back on Wed evening Feb 2nd starting at 6.00pm. It would be great to get some locals at the games.

Trentham Cricket Club would like to thank everyone who purchased our Melbourne Cup Sweep tickets. It was a great fundraiser and would like to also thank those who donated their winnings to the club. We have begun work on our cricket training nets. We hope to have the pitches layed and sinthetic mat finished soon. We would like to thank JACKS EARTHMOVING for donating the use of machinery to level the site. Thank Brian Adams for operating the machinery for us. ANDREW PATTERSON CONCRETES for helping with concreting preperation, TADD CONCRETING for concrete laying and CENTRAL PREMIX for helping with the concrete. It will be fantastic to have good training facilities for our cricketers. All three grades of cricket have been very competitive during November.
