Trentham

Trentham is a very special township nestled at the very top of the Great Dividing Range mid-way between Woodend and Daylesford, approximately one hour from Melbourne. The town's location in between the Macedon Ranges and the Spa Country at the edge of the Wombat State Forest makes it the perfect base to explore the many attractions of these areas. Whether you are looking for a romantic weekend in the country indulging in the many gourmet delights and wines offered by the region, or more active outdoor pursuits like riding or bushwalking in the Wombat State Forest, Trentham has it all!

Those of us who are fortunate enough to live in Trentham are blessed with a vibrant community life with many social and cultural events through the year. Trentham has many active community organisations, ranging from volunteer service groups such as the Trentham Fire Brigade through to recreational clubs like the Football & Netball Club. Trentham also has a thriving cultural life with events such as the monthly Irish Folk Night, art-house movie screenings, poetry readings and music recitals.

The Structure Plan for the town states: "Trentham is a living rural town on the edge of the Wombat Forest. It values its historical integrity and seeks to foster its diversity and rich community spirit. It is a place where people can live, work and enjoy life in harmony with the natural environment and which retains its rural character, both physically and socially, while respecting its sense of place set amongst the pastoral and forest scenery of the central Highlands. It is and will be characterised by a vital social environment, which promotes diversity, social inclusion and quality life for its residents." In short, Trentham is not just a nice place to visit - it is a wonderful place to live as well.
